Kylian Mbappe churned out another Man of the Match performance for Real Madrid, spearheading the team to a 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena today.

The French superstar got the ball rolling for Los Blancos with an early goal before setting Arda Guler up for the second goal of the game with a brilliant assist.

While Sociedad threatened to make a comeback in the second half and even scored from the penalty spot, Real Madrid held on for their fourth win of the new season.

Mbappe happy, but not getting carried away

Mbappe now has four goals and an assist from the first four La Liga games of the 2025/26 campaign.

When asked if he was enjoying his best form at Real Madrid, the 26-year-old was measured in his response, as he said:

“No, no, I feel like I’m in very good shape, really, but as you know, you know better than me, the season is very long, it’s just a good start. It’s a very good start for the team, but a season that lasts 10-11 months with a World Cup.”

Continuing, Mbappe added: “I want to give 100% for the jersey, for this group we’ve created, which is really great, with my quality. I’m sure today’s goal was in my style, but the team helped me a lot to show my quality every day. I feel really good here.”

Regarding the game and how playing at the Anoeta is never easy, Mbappe noted: “We knew in advance that it would be a tough match, and that it would be a test for us see where we stand at this stage of the season.

“We started the match very well, we played real football, scored a goal, and created chances.”

Talking about how Dean Huijsen’s red card impacted the proceedings, he added: “We got a red card which changed the game a bit because we were down to ten players, but we weren’t afraid.

“We played our game and scored the second goal. The second half was tougher, and they got a penalty, but we suffered as a team.”
