MILAN, ITALY – MAY 10: Fans of AC Milan spell out “G.F OUT”, as they protest against Giorgio Furlani, Chief Executive Officer of AC Milan, prior to the Serie A match between AC Milan and Atalanta BC at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on May 10, 2026 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by Marco Luzzani/Getty Images)

Furlani appeared to smile in the stands while the Rossoneri ultras expressed their dissent in Curva Sud, receiving even more criticism from the supporters.

Furlani, however, explained his reaction with a brief statement released to Gazzetta: “It was just an expression of stress. The tension was extremely high, also considering what was at stake in that match.”

Protests by Milan ultras continued during and after the Atalanta match, targeting the players too.

The Rossoneri went 3-0 down within 53 minutes at San Siro in their latest match, prompting the majority of ultras in Curva Sud to leave the stadium.

Those who stayed chanted for club legend Paolo Maldini and waited for the players outside the stadium’s gate at full time, but were not allowed to meet them.
