Monaco United Women’s FC sealed the District 06 crown for 2025-2026 with a 14-0 win over AS Fontonne Antibes, the club’s first trophy in its debut season.
According to Nice-Matin, first place secures a berth in promotion play-offs at the end of May for a shot at the Regional tier.
The champions hit form when it mattered, stringing together four big league wins, at Mougins, against AS Cagnes-le-Croc, away to Cavigal Nice, then finishing with Fontonne Antibes.
President and head coach Marco Simone said a squad built from scratch was prepared optimally, and that the historic title meets their first target and is shared by everyone. He added that early coronation reflects season-long dominance and the standards they must keep, with performance and statistics showing the project’s progress.
Captain Houleyemata Deme spoke of emotion and pride, citing daily work and sacrifices. She said winning at home before supporters made a collective reward even more powerful.
Attention now turns to the Coupe Méditerranée semi-final on Sunday 5 April at 15:00 at the Stade Didier Deschamps, against Hyères, a Regional side one tier above and in the top reaches of that level. Monaco United reached this stage by beating Rousset of Division 3, and a victory could deliver a first-ever final and make them the first women’s district team to reach it. Simone said the aim is to stay focused, be fully competitive and chase as many trophies as possible this season.
