Limpopo ABC Motsepe League outfit Mpheni Home Defenders have opened talks to sign former TS Galaxy defender Marks Munyai, Foot Africa can confirm.

The right-back has been unattached since parting ways with the Rockets at the end of last season, ending a four-year stay with the Tim Sukazi-owned club.

Munyai rose to prominence with Black Leopards, before completing a switch to Highlands park on a free transfer during the 2019/20 campaign.

Now, the 34-year-old stalwart could be set for a sensational return to Limpopo, with the third-tier outfit understood to be very keen on his services.

An impeccable source close to the matter informed this publication that talks on personal terms are progressing but an agreement is yet to be reached.

Mpheni are known for their ambition to lure former topflight professionals each and every season in a bid to push for promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

With the team always falling short in the playoffs, the club hierarchy will be relishing the opportunity to bolster the squad with the experienced Munyai.
