Muslic says Džeko planned to return for Düsseldorf after missing weekend

Edin Džeko will sit out this weekend for Schalke, with a return targeted for Matchday 32 in Germany's second division.

According to BuLi News, head coach Miron Muslic told reporters before facing second-placed SC Paderborn that the 40-year-old is nearing a comeback after a shoulder injury on Bosnia and Herzegovina duty in March.

"He has invested everything to return [from injury] as quickly as possible. We are very pleased with his recovery process."

"He will be gradually integrated into training in the next few days. The plan is for him to return to the squad against Düsseldorf," he said.

Džeko has been rehabbing since the injury and has just completed his first running session. Tomorrow's match comes too soon, with Düsseldorf to come next Saturday.
