Napoli and Atalanta are vying to appoint Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri for the 2026-27 season as the Serie A managerial carousel begins.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, both clubs have offered Sarri a two-year contract, with Atalanta prepared to extend the term. The Bergamo side’s proposal is said to exceed Napoli’s, who are willing to pay around €2.7m per season plus bonuses.
Sarri previously led Napoli from 2015 to 2018, finishing runners-up to Juventus in two of those three seasons. He is increasingly likely to leave Lazio at the end of this campaign, which could open the door to a return.
At Napoli, Antonio Conte is expected to depart by mutual agreement at the end of 2025-26, reportedly after informing president Aurelio De Laurentiis in mid-April. That exit would leave a vacancy at the Stadio Maradona.
Early indications place Sarri among the leading candidates in Naples, though Atalanta are pushing to persuade him. A decision is yet to be made as the market takes shape.
