Napoli striker Rasmus Hojlund reflected on his strong start to life in Italy after finding the net again in the 2-1 victory over Genoa, praising both his teammates and head coach Antonio Conte for helping him settle quickly.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, with quotes via TuttoMercatoWeb, the Danish forward explained how the team’s persistence made the difference in the comeback win.
“I think Genoa got tired in the second half. My teammates did a great job after the break – we kept pushing and pressing and that allowed us to score twice,” he said.

Hojlund dismissed suggestions that his effectiveness depends on Conte’s tactical setup, emphasising his adaptability.
“For me it’s the same, I don’t care about the formation. I just play football and try to do my job as best I can.”
He also highlighted his developing chemistry with Kevin De Bruyne, who assisted one of his goals in last week’s win over Sporting.
“In the last game we connected really well and today too. I even scored but it was ruled offside. We’re finding a great understanding with one another.”

Finally, the 22-year-old praised Conte’s influence and described his move to Napoli as a key turning point in his career.
“Conte is a top coach. I came here because I knew this was an important step for me. Napoli is a great club, and a wonderful place to live. It’s exactly what I need right now in my career.”
After a difficult spell in the Premier League, Hojlund is thriving in Serie A, scoring four goals in his first six appearances under Conte.
