Netherlands name squad to face Norway and Ecuador with Timber brothers, Smit earns first call-up | OneFootball

Marseille midfielder Quinten Timber has been recalled by the Netherlands for friendlies against Norway on 27 March and Ecuador on 31 March, their final tune-up before the 2026 World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July.

According to L'Équipe, his twin Jurrien Timber is also included after recent uncertainty, and AZ Alkmaar youngster Kees Smit, 20, receives his first call-up. Both fixtures will be shown live on L'Équipe Live foot.

Ronald Koeman is dealing with a spate of injuries three months out, with Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt, Emmanuel Emegha, Justin Kluivert, Robin Roefs and Crysencio Summerville sidelined. Summerville, 24, is still awaiting his first cap and could opt to represent Suriname after youth caps for the Dutch.

Despite recent niggles, Memphis Depay, Mark Flekken and Jurrien Timber make the squad, and Noa Lang has been passed fit. Xavi Simons, who joined Tottenham last summer from Paris Saint-Germain, is also named.

The Timber brothers were both involved in the Netherlands' previous camp in November 2025, when Quinten, now on 8 caps, was also called.
