PSG have been reshaping their defense with younger options like Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo, and Illia Zabarnyi over recent transfer windows. Even so, they may have their eye on a promising target for the future.
These players, alongside Lucas Hernandez and Marquinhos, provide enough depth for the 2025-26 season. Still, PSG may continue strengthening the backline, especially with some veteran players approaching the twilight of their careers.
Sven Botman has been linked to PSG before, mainly because of his past connection with sporting advisor Luis Campos, who had the player at LOSC Lille.

Chronicle Live reports that Newcastle are making a new contract for Botman a priority, amid rumored interest from Chelsea, Manchester City, and PSG, with his current deal expiring in June 2027.
In October, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey reported that Newcastle are confident Sven Botman is ready to commit his future to the North East.
The defender could be the first of several key first-team players to sign new contracts, with talks expected to move quickly and a deal possibly completed by January. Moreover, Newcastle want to keep negotiations straightforward, knowing the 25-year-old has drawn strong interest from other clubs.
TBR Football notes that PSG and Inter Milan have closely tracked Botman’s performances in England, while Chelsea and Manchester City are also reportedly admirers.
