Nicolas Jackson (24) completed a move to Bayern Munich just before the closure of the transfer window. The Senegalese forward completed the loan move from Chelsea, despite a late hiccup, as the Blues looked to recall the forward, following an injury sustained by Liam Dealp, just at the moment that the deal was going through.

Delap’s injury did, however, alter the terms of the agreement, with Jackson joining on a loan deal. It is a deal that includes an obligation to make the move permanent, should a certain condition be met. That condition is Jackson starting 40 games.

Bayern Munich’s Uli Hoeness said that that would “never happen” and so the deal would “definitely not be a permanent transfer.”

As well as the obligation, there is also a buy option, should the striker not reach that minimum threshold, as the player’s agent, Ali Barat, revealed during an interview with French media RMC Sport.

“They (Bayern Munich) have a mandatory purchase option of €80m, if he plays 40 games, but they also have a €65m option (if he plays fewer than 40 games),” said Barat.

‘I don’t think Bayern Munich will have a problem paying the €65m at the end of the summer’ – Jackson’s agent

Barat then went on to express optimism that Jackson’s move to the Bavarian club would become permanent.

“I think that if Nico performs this season, given the current market for strikers, at €65m, they should buy him. Once again, it all depends on the way in which Jackson integrates and performs, but with the potential that he has, I don’t think they will have a problem paying the €65m at the end of the summer,” said the striker’s agent.
