Nottingham Forest ‘make contact’ over Maxime Esteve as three defensive targets emerge | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest are exploring three defensive options this summer, with Vitor Pereira seeking only a few tweaks after a chaotic season.

L’Equipe reports Forest have made contact over Burnley centre-back Maxime Esteve, with Everton and Bournemouth also approaching and Bayer Leverkusen keen. Burnley are said to accept he will move despite a deal to 2030, and a quick decision is expected.

Murillo remains first-choice on the left of defence alongside Nilola Milenkovic, and Pereira wants to keep most of the club’s key players.

Foot Mercato credits Forest with strong interest in Angers left-back Jacques Ekomie, while Strasbourg have already opened talks that are progressing well. The 22-year-old has one year left and carries a price of €7-10 million, and Angers view a sale as likely.

Neco Williams has impressed at left-back and the club want to secure him on new terms to deter suitors. His versatility has covered for injured Ola Aina and created minutes for January signing Luca Netz.

TuttoJuve says Forest are among the clubs pursuing Marseille defender Leonardo Balerdi, alongside Juventus, Roma and Atletico Madrid. Marseille would consider significant offers, with a fee of €20-25 million discussed.
