Official: 5 miss out as Barcelona announce squad to face Newcastle | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona have on Sunday unveiled the club’s travelling squad to face Newcastle United.

Barca are of course primed to kick their European campaign back into gear this coming week.

After finishing in the top-8 of the league phase in the Champions League, the Blaugrana have been pitted against English outfit Newcastle in the competition’s Last-16.

The tie’s first leg is set to play out on Tuesday night, at the Magpies’ home of St. James’ Park.

And as alluded to above, two days out, the squad of players called upon by Hansi Flick to make the trip to Tyneside has been unveiled online.

Despite not yet being cleared for competitive action, Gavi has joined the Barca delegation. Marc Bernal, following his early withdrawal against Athletic Club on Saturday, is also included.

Remaining in Catalunya owing to respective injuries, on the other hand, are all of Andreas Christensen, Alejandro Balde, Frenkie de Jong, and Jules Koundé.
