Official: Real Madrid startling lineup to face Villarreal | OneFootball

Real Madrid will have an opportunity to momentarily return to the top of the league table as they take on Villarreal in about an hour.

The Spanish giants are coming on the back of a huge win over AS Monaco, which has lifted the confidence in the camp. The team is now looking to extend the winning run to three matches in all competitions.

Real Madrid have already announced the starting eleven that will take on Villarreal tonight, with new coach Alvaro Arbeloa not making too many changes from the team that secured a win over Monaco.

Federico Valverde notably continues at right-back ahead of Dani Carvajal, with Alvaro Carreras occupying the left-back position.

They will be supported by the central defensive duo of Raul Asencio and Dean Huijsen while Thibaut Courtois continues in between the sticks.

Carreras’ return to the starting eleven means Arbeloa had the luxury to field Eduardo Camavinga as a direct replacement for the suspended Aurelien Tchouameni in the holding midfield role.

But the new Real Madrid coach hasn’t made any other changes to the team. Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler continue in the attacking midfield role.

In the attack, Real Madrid continue with the three-pronged setup of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr. and Franco Mastantuono, who will be full of confidence having scored a goal against Monaco.
