Official: Xabi Alonso rings the changes as Real Madrid name XI to face Girona | OneFootball

The XI of players called upon by Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso for the club’s meeting with Girona has been unveiled online.

And it features a whole host of changes from the club’s last outing.

The first comes between the posts, where Thibaut Courtois, after recovering from injury, has stepped back in in place of Andriy Lunin.

Moving into defence, and there are three alterations from Wednesday’s victory over Olympiacos. All of Antonio Rüdiger – handed his first start since all the way back in September – Éder Militão and Fran García will be in from the off at the Estadi Montilivi.

After shaking off a minor fitness complaint, Jude Bellingham also steps back into midfield.

Up top, though, the partnership remains the same, with Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr. rewarded for their excellence in Athens with respective starts.
