Oliver Glasner confirms Palace exit and says Marc Guehi close to move before Sunderland trip | OneFootball

Oliver Glasner has confirmed he will leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season and said Marc Guehi is close to a move, as his side prepare to face Sunderland on Saturday.

According to Sunderland Echo, the Austrian said he will not sign a new deal when his contract expires and indicated his captain is nearing a switch to Manchester City.

Palace are on a run of nine straight defeats in all competitions, including a historic FA Cup upset at non-league Macclesfield last weekend that ended their defence of the trophy. They head to Wearside seeking a response.

Glasner explained the decision was taken months ago after an October meeting with Steve Parish during the international break. He said they kept it confidential for about three months because of a packed schedule and that clarity now matters.

On Guehi, Glasner said a deal is in the final stages and he cannot confirm the buying club while it remains unfinished. The consequence, he added, is that the defender will not play against Sunderland.
