Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner says he is confident that more signings will come this summer after seeing his side win the Community Shield at Wembley.
Glasner’s side beat Liverpool on penalties to win their second trophy in 2025 after they previously beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
Up until now Palace have managed to keep their best players though they will likely face a battle to keep hold of Marc Guehi and Ebere Eze.
Adding to that, midfielder Daichi Kamada also picked up an injury against Liverpool and Glasner says he is hoping to soon bolster his squad.
“I’m very happy with the squad because they just won another trophy,” he said. “I see the number of games we have to play next season as a reward. We want to win something and we want the European football.
“We might miss Daichi Kamada – who got injured today – at Chelsea next week and it’s times like this where we will assess our targets and find the right players.”
Palace have won their last three matches at Wembley, against Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City, and the Palace boss spoke of his pride.
“I like the feeling of winning at Wembley,” he said. “I have to give big credit to the players for this win today, we came back and were able to decide the game on penalties.
“We were on the same level as Liverpool and it was a big performance, I’m proud of the team.”
21-year-old Justin Devenny took the winning penalty for Crystal Palace and Glasner was full of praise for the young midfielder.
“Justin came to me and said ‘I’ll take it, I’ll take the last one’. I like him having this confidence and the determination to win us the game, he will play many minutes for us this season.”
