Oxford United host Watford in the Championship at The Kassam Stadium on Saturday, 11 April 2026, with Oxford 23rd and Watford 10th as survival hopes meet a top-half push.

Recent meetings have been tight, with wins for both sides. Watford edged the reverse fixture 2-1 in October. Oxford United now seek a home lift against opponents who have travelled less convincingly this season.

Oxford United's recent run has been draw-heavy, taking points off Portsmouth and Hull after defeat at Southampton, having beaten Blackburn before that. The Hornets have one win in their past five, drawing with Charlton and Leicester and losing at QPR and Stoke. They have been far stronger at home than away, collecting 37 points at Vicarage Road and 20 on the road.

In terms of availability, Oxford United are without Greg Leigh, Brian De Keersmaecker and Tyler Goodhram. Hornets absentees include Marc Bola, Hector Matthew Kyprianou, Pierre Dwomoh, James Abankwah, Jack Grieves, Rocco Vata and Stephen Mfuni.

Oxford United average 40% possession with 70.61% passing accuracy, so the hosts may lean on a compact shape and direct outlets to leading scorer Will Lankshear, who has nine league goals. The Hornets tend to see more of the ball, averaging 51% possession with 80.48% pass completion, and could look to supply Luca Kjerrumgaard, also on nine goals, with Imran Louzan creating regularly after nine assists.

A win would take Oxford United to 44 points and could pull them closer to safety. The Hornets would reach 60 points and may strengthen their grip on a top-half finish while keeping scope to climb further.
