Lorient beat Angers 2-0 at Stade du Moustoir on Sunday to rise from 11th to ninth in Ligue 1, while the visitors slipped from 10th to 11th.

In the ninth minute, Pablo Pagis finished low from the centre of the box after a neat pass from Arsène Kouassi to break the deadlock.

Yvon Mvogo preserved the advantage with three first half saves, thwarting Ousmane Camara, Goduine Koyalipou and Yassin Belkhdim as the visitors pushed.

After the restart, Jean-Victor Makengo turned in from close range following a corner (58.).

There was a brief stoppage for Herve Koffi's treatment early on, but the Angers goalkeeper continued.
