Palmeiras have completed the sale of Facundo Torres to Austin FC.
Both clubs announced the agreement on Friday. According to Globo.com, Palmeiras accepted a US$9.5 million offer, R$50.2 million, and will keep 100 percent of the fee.
The club posted on social media to thank the Uruguayan, who spent just one season at the club. He has signed with the United States side until the end of 2030, with an option for one further year.
Brought in last year from Orlando City for around R$70 million, Torres featured often but did not impress. He made 61 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists.
At the end of the season, Abel Ferreira said he did not wish to negotiate his departure, as with Sosa, another forward who arrived in 2025.
He had yet to play in 2026 after suffering a left thigh injury during pre-season. Palmeiras believe this sale could help generate cash and ease the wage bill. The club intend to seek a high-profile reinforcement for the attack.
