Pape Gueye struck a first-half brace to put Senegal in front against Sudan in their Africa Cup of Nations last-16 tie on Saturday.
L'Équipe notes both finishes were near-identical efforts from the edge of the box.
Sudan had taken an early lead with a superb goal from Aamir Abdallah. Gueye then levelled for 1-1 in the 29th minute, meeting Sadio Mané’s pass with a precise finish.
He added a second in first-half stoppage time, driving in a more powerful effort after a cut-back from Nicolas Jackson in a two-phase move, putting Senegal 2-1 ahead.
The former Marseille midfielder started the tie. A regular scorer at club level, he arrived with 34 caps and three goals for Senegal before today.
