Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin believes one Chelsea player’s head got a little bit scrambled last night in the Bayern defeat.

Nevin was reporting for BBC Radio 5 Live last night and some of his quotes were picked up by Chelsea HQ during the game.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea add new centre back name to list of targets and could move on him in January!!

Nevin was focusing on Bayern’s right hand side of the pitch, which was Chelsea’s left hand side of the pitch. And he believes that there were moments when Chelsea got ‘taken apart’ down that side. I’m inclined to agree as well.

Their first goal came from that side of the pitch as well, and it was their danger man, who Nevin speaks about, Michael Olise, who got the cross that forced the own goal by Trevoh Chalobah.

Although Cole Palmer got a goal back to make it 2-1 to Bayern with a superb finish in typical Palmer fashion, it was not quite enough as Harry Kane went on to make it 3-1 in the second half and make it game over in the first Champions League match of the new campaign for both sides.

Michael Olise is a different gravy and how I wish Chelsea got that deal over the line when we tried to sign him recently. He was a real menace all game and even Marc Cucurella, who has been superb lately and is a top defender, could not get near him.

Nevin said during the game last night:

“I think Marc Cucurella’s head is getting a little bit scrambled [by Michael Olise].”

Chelsea taken apart

Nevin continued:

“Chelsea came out to have a real go and put a little bit of pressure on. But as soon as they sat back, they were taken apart, particularly on this right hand side.”
