Barcelona kicked off their final game of the season at San Mames late on Sunday night as they looked to put the cherry on the cake of what has been a stupendous season for them.
Having celebrated the title win a week ago, the Catalans were past the hangover they were understandably in against Villarreal last weekend and thus looked to close the campaign on a high.
An early brace from Robert Lewandowski in the first half put them in the driver’s seat to achieve just that and the team ensured to hold on to their lead this time around.
Dani Olmo then made it 3-0 late in the night, scoring Barcelona’s final goal of the season. After 38 games, they thus finish on 88 points, four clear of Real Madrid.
Barça Universal brings you the player ratings from Athletic Club 0-3 Barcelona.
The academy star started the game for Barcelona in what is expected to be his final game for the club but did not look overwhelmingly great.
Was solid with his distribution but barely pulled off any convincing saves in any of Athletic Club’s chances.
The Spaniard made his first start in a long time and injected pace into Barcelona’s left flank. His combination play with Raphinha made the wing a serious threat.
Yet, he still looked relatively rusty in terms of the transition play and fluidity of his touches and often lost the ball cheaply.
Cubarsi was tasked with leading Barcelona’s defense in the final game of the season and carried himself with poise throughout although it was not easy in any measure.
The teenage sensation was hit hard by Athletic Club’s relentless attacks in the opening minutes and did exceedingly well to keep them at bay. Thereafter, however, his job shifted more towards defending against counter-attacks.
The Uruguayan star led Barcelona on the night as the on-field campaign and his display on the field was not far off from being a standout.
He was dribbled past on one occassion but he completed the game with 98% pass accuracy, showing the manager that he is capable of improving on his distribution significantly contrary to public belief.
Garcia was put to a stern test at San Mames – possibly his toughest challenge yet playing as Barcelona’s right-back – as he faced off against Nico Williams on the flank.
The Basque star was the hosts’ best player in attack and came into the game with all of his pace, guile, and trickery. All factors considered, Garcia did well to keep Williams under control and relatively silent.

Gavi started in Barcelona’s double pivot alongside Pedri against the Basque outfit and stood out with his control, vision, and defensive stability.
He played a crucial role in holding off the hosts’ counterattacks and helped retain complete control of Barcelona’s possession through the middle of the park
Pedri’s performance in Barcelona’s final game of the season was exactly how he has turned up in every game this term – flawless.
The Canary Islander provided control to the team’s buildup in the first-half after Athletic Club’s strong start to the game and ensured that Barcelona were the ones in charge for the better part of the second period.
Fermin was lively as ever, always looking to make the right runs behind the defense to ensure that the hosts were tormented.
The youngster earned the assist for Barcelona’s opening goal and even provided direct threat on Unai Simon’s goal looking to forward his good goalscoring form.
Yamal enjoyed a relatively silent night and a deserved one after the long and tiring season he has had.
The player was not poor in any sense of the word but simply did not grow into the game as he usually would have had the stakes been higher. Yet, he regularly looked to connect with Robert Lewandowski down the middle and orchestrate the play.
The Brazilian star was relentless on the field both in attack and in his recoveries but did not threaten directly on goal as much as he would have liked to.
His pace led the Catalans’ counter-attacks and he regularly looked to build up with Robert Lewandowski and Alejandro Balde.

The Polish star entered the game with no chance of catching Kylian Mbappe on the Pichichi front but that did not stop him from being motivated to get on the scoresheet for the team.
He opened the scoring for Barcelona in just the 14th minute off a Fermin Lopez assist and then doubled his tally just three minutes later to make it 2-0 in his team’s favor. Needless to say, he leaves the campaign on a high.
Missed a 1v1 close to the hour mark that would have completed his hat-trick.
Came on as a late substitute and won a penalty in extra-time that he stepped up to take himself. Scored the goal, making no mistake.
