Pedro nets eighth career chest goal as Flamengo beat Fluminense 2-0

Pedro scored with his chest in the second half as Flamengo beat Fluminense 2-0 in the 11th round of the Brasileirão.

According to Coluna Do Fla, it was the eighth chest goal of his career, seven for Flamengo. The other came for Fluminense in a 2-1 defeat to Botafogo in the 2018 Brasileirão.

Earlier, a mistake from goalkeeper Fábio when playing out gifted Pedro the chance to strike from long range in the first half. He then doubled the lead after the break with a chest finish.

His previous Flamengo chest goals arrived against Juventude and Vasco in 2024, Portuguesa in the 2023 Carioca, Red Bull Bragantino in the 2022 Brasileirão, Volta Redonda in the 2021 Carioca and Bahia in the 2020 Brasileirão.

With Pedro available, Flamengo now turn to the Libertadores group stage. They host Independiente Medellín on Thursday 16 at 21:30, Brasília time, at the Maracanã.
