Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was asked about the future(s) of Savinho and Manuel Akanji amid interest from Tottenham and Galatasaray ahead of Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Tottenham.

City have conducted a significant overhaul of the first-team squad over the course of the summer transfer window, with newly-appointed director of football Hugo Viana overseeing a crossroads period at the Etihad Stadium.

Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, Scott Carson and James McAtee have all departed the club this summer – with Jack Grealish, Vitor Reis and Claudio Echeverri heading to Everton, Girona and Bayer Leverkusen for the 2025-26 campaign.

Further departures are expected before the September 1 transfer deadline, with Ederson keen on a move to Galatasaray and the duo of Manuel Akanji and Savinho attracting interest from Galatasaray and Tottenham respectively.

Manchester City do not wish to sell Savinho but are open to sanctioning a sale if their valuation of the 21-year-old attacker is met, with Tottenham understood to have been put off by City’s £67 million asking price of the Brazilian.

Savinho is reportedly unsure of his long-term prospects at the Etihad Stadium and with Oscar Bobb starring on Manchester City’s 4-0 thrashing of Wolves last week, competition is as tough as it has ever been on the wings.

Meanwhile, City are understood to have accepted a £15 million offer from Galatasaray for Akanji, who has rebuffed suggestions of the possibility of a move to Turkey with a comment on transfer insider Fabrizio Romano’s Instagram post this week.

However, with Akanji entering the final two years of his contract and Manchester City being well-stocked in central defence, a transfer cannot be ruled out at this moment in time as we enter the final weeks of the window.

A recent report has laid out that negotiations between Tottenham and Manchester City officials are expected to progress after Saturday’s fixture, with City having lined up Real Madrid’s Rodrygo as a potential replacement for Savinho.

Speaking to the press ahead of Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Tottenham, Guardiola was quizzed on what the remainder of the transfer window could hold for Savinho and Akanji.

“I don’t know about that. Nothing. They are our players and we’ll see what happens. I think a few things are going to happen and we’ll see,” the 54-year-old said.

Manchester City made a strong start to their 2025-26 Premier League campaign with a dominant 4-0 triumph over Wolves last week and a win over Tottenham on Saturday can set up Guardiola and co perfectly for their upcoming ties with Arsenal and Manchester United.
