A player who is apparently central to Chelsea’s future plans has had a positive injury update given on him after a long spell out.

Levi Colwill has been out all season for Chelsea but he remains crucial to their long terms plans and what they are trying to build during this project.

Sources: Chelsea hold positive talks to sign Jeremy Jacquet and close on fee agreement!

Before he got injured, Colwill was easily one of Chelsea’s best and most consistent performers on the pitch and he had a bit of leadership qualities about him as well. So he’s been a big miss for The Blues who have been having to play without him for far too long now.

But there is a chance that Colwill might be back soon, with his recovery going very well so far.

Colwill back soon?

The BBC report that the desire Chelsea have to sign a new ball-playing centre-back this window came after Levi Colwill sustained a serious knee injury in pre-season, although his recovery is progressing well and there is optimism he will feature later in the campaign. He remains central to Chelsea’s long-term plans.

This will be a big boost if he is still able to play some part in this season and have some sort of effect on it. Although I’m sure there is still a very long road back to starting games again for him.

Former Chelsea player and manager Ruud Gullit has been questioning whether Chelsea is the right club for the development of fellow Dutch man Jorrel Hato, in some rare comments from the former midfield player.

And a reminder as we head back to the main transfer story for this week so far. Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with Jeremy Jacquet ahead of trying to agree the fee. So that side is all done and dusted.
