Barcelona eased back into La Liga action with a 3-0 home win over Getafe to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Another low key night for Barcelona’s No.1 with a third clean sheet of the season racked up.
The France international is a vital part this defence and showed his resilience to remain in the starting XI from the win at Newcastle.
Rotated in as part of a change at centre back by Hansi Flick and was largely untroubled by the Getafe attack.
The Dane is easing his way back to full fitness – and trying to convince the club over a contract extension – and looked steady with Pau Cubarsi and Ronald Araujo given the night off.
Continues to be a really steady option in the absence of Alejandro Balde due to injury.
Continues to show the durability to play back-to-back Champions League and La Liga games and had a hand in the build up to Ferran Torres’ opening goal.
Rinse and repeat alongside Pedri in the Barcelona engine room and fans will be hoping that contract extension is sorted ASAP.
Raphinha showed real alertness to hook over an assist for Torres’ second goal on the breakaway. A first half booking was a concern and Flick rolled on Marcus Rashford at the break with the Manchester United loanee showing a flash of brilliance to tee up Dani Olmo for goal No.3.
A sublime assist for Torres’ first goal of the night and he looks ready to battle Fermin Lopez for the No.10 spot. A first goal of the season will boost his cause to start more regularly under Flick.
Flick’s attacking Swiss Army knife continues to impress whenever called up as he started out on the left to accommodate Raphinha, Olmo and Robert Lewandowski. Took his two goals brilliantly and shows no signs of rustiness despite being sidelined by the returning Lewandowski.
Did not manage to get on the scoresheet but came mighty close on two first half occasions. Remains undisputed as first choice but he will be keeping an eye on Torres’ form.
