Barcelona battered Valencia on their return to La Liga action with a 6-0 win back on home soil at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Player ratings

Joan Garcia – 7

Certainly not a busy night for Barcelona’s new No.1 but he continues to deal with every challenge in front of him.

Jules Kounde – 7

Looks settled back into the team following a rotating role in the opening weeks of the campaign.

Eric Garcia – 7

Has quietly developed into one of Barcelona’s most consistent performers so far this season and looks comfortable alongside Pau Cubarsi.

Pau Cubarsi – 8

His most commanding display of the campaign so far and looks ready to take on an updated role this season.

Alejandro Balde – 7

Similarly to Cubarsi, he looks ready to take on a more senior spot in Flick’s plans, and undisputed in the left back spot.

Pedri – 8

Kept Barcleona ticking over in midfield and offered more licence to stride forward in the absence of Frenkie de Jong.

Marc Casado – 8

Seized his chance in De Jong’s absence, and despite not offering the Dutchman’s skillset going forward, offered a steady balance next to Pedri.

Roony Bardaghji 6 – Raphinha 8

Roony Bardghji offered flashes of his promise before being replaced by Raphinha at half time. The Brazilian was offered a break by Flick following his long trip back from Brazil but tore up the script with two goals.

Fermin Lopez – 9

The shining light for Barcelona – despite the second half heroics of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski. Took his two goals superbly, battled all game long, and looks the best option as a No.10.

Marcus Rashford – 7

Given another chance by Flick, but he continues to flicker with promise, and the form of Raphinha and Lewandowski will be a concern.

Ferran Torres – 7 / Robert Lewandowski 9

Torres didn’t do much wrong as he continues to cover for Lewandowski with a cool assist for Lopez’s first goal. But, if any reminder was needed over No.9 order, Lewandowski dropped a little reminder.
