Lazio may have salvaged a draw with the last kick of the game, but they still dropped two valuable points at home against the struggling Torino.
The Stadio Olimpico in Rome witnessed a mesmerizing back-and-forth contest on Saturday. Giovanni Simeone gave the visitors an early lead, but Matteo Cancellieri scored two astonishing goals to turn the result upside-down before half-time.
In the 73rd minute, Che Adams levelled the scoring once more, while Saul Coco thought he had won it for the Granata on the 93rd minute, but Danilo Cataldi’s spot-kick forced a fair draw.
Ivan Provedel – 5.5
The Italian goalkeeper produced five saves, including a vital one against Cyril Ngonge, but he should have parried the ball better on the opener, and he was certainly expected to produce a better stop on the third Torino goal.
Elseid Hysaj – 5.5
The Albanian made some interventions at the back, but couldn’t stop Niels Nkounkou’s run on the second Torino goal. He was also anonymous in the attacking phase.
Mario Gila – 5.5
The Spaniard had trouble containing Che Adams following the Scot’s second-half introduction.
Alessio Romagnoli – 5.5
The experienced defender left Adam Masina almost unchallenged, allowing the latter to provide the assist for Coco’s goal.
Nuno Tavares – 5
The Portuguese looked shaky at the back, allowing Marcus Pedersen too much space on the opener. His runs were also quite predictable, and his crosses weren’t as threatening as Sarri would have hoped.
Matteo Cancellieri – 8
An astonishing first half from the 23-year-old, who was simply unstoppable in the final third. He dragged Lazio from behind by scoring a wonderful brace, but his impact dwindled after shifting to the left wing in the second half.

Danilo Cataldi – 6
The stand-in Lazio captain fought hard for every ball, but couldn’t quite make up for Nicolo Rovella’s quality touch in midfield.
Toma Basic – 6.5
The Croatian put on a shift in the middle of the park, and provided the assist for Cancellieri’s second goal. Lazio were still leading when he left the pitch.
Pedro – 6.5
The veteran surprisingly committed a major blunder with a terrible backpass that almost gifted Torino a second goal, but he immediately made up for it by setting up the equalizer for Cancellieri with a superb through ball.
Boulaye Dia – 6
The Senegalese constantly tracked back and helped his team regain possession, which culminated in Lazio’s second goal. However, his attacking contribution was rather limited.
Taty Castellanos – 5.5
The Argentine bomber had his moments, like bringing the ball down and experetly setting up Cataldi (although he was offside), but they were too few and far between.
Reda Belahyane – 6
The Moroccan ran hard but was a slight downgrade on Basic.
Gustav Isaksen – 5.5
Like Hysaj, the Dane allowed Nkounkou to skip past him rather easily on Torino’s second goal.
Tijjani Noslin – 6.5
The Dutch was willing to chase lost causes, and his tenacious approach won Lazio a last-minute spot-kick.
Manuel Lazzari – N/A
