Milan ran out 3-0 victors over Lecce in the second round of the Coppa Italia thanks to goals from Santiago Gimenez, Christopher Nkunku and Christian Pulisic in a game that was conditioned by an 18th-minute red card shown to Jamil Siebert.
Here are the player ratings after a comfortable evening in San Siro for Milan.
MILAN, ITALY – SEPTEMBER 23: Santiago Gimenez of AC Milan celebrates with teammates after scoring to give the side a 1-0 lead during the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Round of 16 match between AC Milan and US Lecce at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on September 23, 2025 in Milan, Italy. Milan ratings: Maignan 6; Tomori 6, De Winter 6, Pavlovic 6.5; Saelemaekers 7, Loftus-Cheek 6.5, Ricci 6, Rabiot 7.5, Bartesaghi 7, Gimenez 6, Nkunku 7.
Best Milan player: Rabiot 7.5 – The Frenchman is already proving why Allegri was so keen to bring him in from Marseille over the summer. The former Juventus midfielder is ready-made, proven in Serie A and in games like tonight’s, looks a cut above his opposition. He was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, instead rattling the crossbar in the first half. He was Milan’s leader on the pitch tonight, despite the fact that Maignan was wearing the captain’s armband.

Coach: Allegri / Landucci 7 – Allegri was suspended for tonight’s game, so had to watch from the stands instead. It was his assistant Landucci who was in the dugout in San Siro. Milan were impressive even before the early Lecce red card. They had four or five opportunities to score within the first 10 minutes, and began the second half in similarly determined fashion. Though it was ‘only’ a three-goal victory, Milan hit the woodwork a further three times, and were unlucky not to score on a number of other occasions.
Lecce ratings: Fruchtl 6.5; Veiga 4.5, Siebert 3, Tiago Gabriel 5, Ndaba 5; Kaba 5, Berisha 5.5, Helgasson 5; Ndri 5, Camarda 5, Morente 5.5.
Best Lecce player: Fruchtl 6.5 – The former Bayern Munich goalkeeper did the best he could to keep the Rossoneri at bay, with a number of impressive saves, even if he did let three go past him. The German faced 10 shots on target, and did a very decent job to keep the scores limited to just 3-0.

Coach: Di Francesco 5 – The trip to Milan was always going to be a difficult task for Lecce, and was not made any easier by Siebert’s sending off after just 18 minutes. There was not an awful lot that Di Francesco could have done to turn the tide after that. Milan went ahead two minutes after the red card, and from there it was mission impossible. There was a clear difference in quality, and then the numerical disadvantage made it a night to forget for Di Francesco and his players.
