Plymouth fans have been told to arrive early ahead of their game against Northampton due to additional security checks.
Plymouth head to Northampton on Saturday for the final day of League One knowing they realistically need to win to have a chance of finishing in the play-off places.
Tom Cleverley’s side endured a difficult start to the campaign, but they have picked up considerably over the past few months, which has put them into top six contention.
The hard-fought win with ten men over Port Vale kept the Green Army’s hopes alive, and they travel to Sixfields sitting two points behind sixth-placed Stevenage, with Luton also a point and one place above Plymouth.

So, it’s not in their hands, but Argyle will still believe they have a chance, and it will be a case of doing their job against relegated Northampton, and hoping results elsewhere go in their favour.
As you would expect, Plymouth will be backed by a big following against the Cobblers, and the club had a message for the travelling support on social media as they were told to arrive early at the stadium for security reasons.
“Please arrive early tomorrow, Green Army. Following the raising of the UK terror threat level this week, Northampton Town have informed us that they will be carrying out increased security checks on entry. There will be 100% bag and body searches for all spectators, in all stands.
“As kick-off times cannot be delayed on the final day of the season, it is important that supporters allow enough time for admission.”
The terror threat level was raised to ‘severe’ following the stabbings at Golders Green earlier this week, so extra measures will be taken across the country.
As the update explains, Argyle’s game at Northampton is one of 12 League One fixtures to be played at 3pm, and as it’s the final day, they have to start at the same time, so the game won’t be delayed if fans are waiting outside.
This update is good for the fans, as they now know they can get in early and make plans accordingly to shorten the queues prior to 3pm.
All connected to Plymouth will be counting down the hours until kick-off, and they will hope there is a lot of drama on the final day as they try to beat Stevenage and Luton to the final play-off spot.

With Luton facing a difficult trip to Bolton, there is every chance they could drop points, and if Plymouth better the Hatters’ result, they will finish above them.
But, that wouldn’t be enough, and with Stevenage at home to Wigan, there’s no denying that they are in pole position going into the final day.
So, the away end at Northampton will be checking their phones throughout, hoping the Latics can do them a favour, along with Bolton.
Ultimately, though, all Cleverley can do is ensure his players are focused on their task, and they need to get the job done against Northampton, and if they can get a few early goals, it could put the pressure on Stevenage and Luton.
