Pre-season 2025-2026 starts tomorrow

Tomorrow, Tuesday 8 July, the 2025-2026 pre-season will kick off with the return to training. The fields of the Girona Football Academy by Puma will host this first day of work, which will be led by Míchel Sánchez.
The players called up for this first day are: Gazzaniga, Juan Carlos, Aleksandar, Arnau, Francés, David López, Blind, Miguel, Solís, Artero, Misehouy, Iván Martín, Stuani, Abel Ruiz, Portu and Valery.
In some cases, they will continue to work on recovering from their injuries, such as Artero; Valery, with a dislocated shoulder and Miguel, with ankle discomfort. Van De Beek, also recovering, will join the squad on the 14th.
The rest of the players will join the group on Monday 14, once their respective rest periods are over. They are internationals Miovski, Yangel, Vlad, Tsygankov, Krejci and Asprilla and Joel Roca, who played in the promotion playoff with Mirandés.
First week of work
The first two days, Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9, the work sessions will be in the morning and will alternate with medical check-ups. On Thursday 10th and Friday 11th the training sessions will be double, morning and afternoon, and on Saturday 12th only in the morning. On Sunday they will rest and on Monday 14th they will travel to Vall d'En Bas and continue the pre-season at the Royalverd Training Center.
The first match, in Olot
Girona will play their first pre-season match in Olot against UE Olot on 19 July. Four days later, on 23 July in Sabadell, the Red and Whites will face Espanyol in the final of the Copa Catalunya. The third of the series, on 26 July, will be played in Andorra against Olympique de Marseille. Alavés will be another opponent, on 30 July in Torremirona. A date marked on the calendar for this pre-season is 3 August with the Costa Brava Trophy at Montilivi against Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
