There's plenty of hype around Daniel Munoz right now and it's for good reason. The Colombian has been fantastic for Crystal Palace both last season and this time around.
An attacking wingback who's also solid defensively - there's plenty to love about Munoz. And naturally, given he's at Palace, there are links to big-money moves away.
He's been linked with Barcelona in a move that, honestly, makes a lot of sense. Compatriot and former Napoli star Juan Camilo Zuniga feels that would be the wrong place to go, though. Instead, Munoz should be at Liverpool.
“Because of Dani’s style of play, I would put him at Liverpool,” he told Caracol Radio.
“A team with a lot of attacking and box-to-box play would be a great fit for Liverpool because Dani is very active, so he attacks the spaces a lot. So, I would keep him in the Premier League.
“Yes, I would keep him in the Premier League because the slow, methodical style doesn’t suit him. He’s more of an attacker, looking to exploit space. Barcelona gives him a lot of possession, taking the ball there, bringing it back. It’s more of a premium style.”
Now, we'd love to have Munoz at Liverpool but it doesn't make much sense. The Reds have two very good options at right-back, with Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong - both of whom can play as wingbacks, too.
We also imagine Palace are absolutely sick of the Reds. Marc Guehi nearly made the move in the summer and there's clear interest in Adam Wharton as well.
It's hard to see a deal for Munoz happening, then. Even if he's the right calibre of star for Liverpool.
