MASSIMILIANO CANZI

"This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting evenings of my career, as I did not have the luck or skill to play in the Champions League. I am sure it would be for any coach. You work hard to experience evenings like this. We have certainly done a great job so far and I have many thanks to give to my direct collaborators and the Juventus organisation, because we have everything we need to perform at our best. Of course, I must thank the girls for the disposition they have shown since the first day we met. There was a change of methodology in fieldwork and they immediately got to work. This is the right path and we want to continue on it in order to be as satisfied as possible. I can’t say much more now, because the season is very long and we are only at the beginning. For this particular match, the management of certain moments was key. They were very good at interpreting all the situations in the match. Estelle Cascarino? I think this type of game is perfect for her. She loves to attack. She is doing very well, she is proving to be a great player. The other girls, too. They really played a fantastic match. Now we have to get our attention back to the championship, because we have an away match against Lazio waiting for us. Only after that will we start thinking about the return match in Paris next week."

"It was important for us to start like this, and it was a very important for me to start the Women's Champions League with a goal, bringing home the win. Personally, I feel good. At PSG, I played a lot as an outside player. Now I have the opportunity to play as a striker at Juventus and show that I can score. Scoring a goal on her ex-team? It is special to score against your old team, but now I am a Juventus player and I want the best for this club. What will the match be like on the return leg? PSG is a good team and we must respect them. We will push as hard as we can in the return match and try to win that one, as well."

"We definitely had a very good performance, against a great team. Now we have the away match against Lazio and then next week the return match against PSG, so we don’t have much time to celebrate, since we have to prepare for the next matches. We are obviously very happy with this result, though. I feel very good physically and I am happy because feeling good helps me to perform at my best. Overall, I can say that the whole group is doing well, both physically and mentally. We are a very tight-knit group, I will never tire of repeating that. We train hard to achieve our goals and one of them is to reach the group stage of the Women's Champions League. We know it won't be easy, since we have a top-class opponent in front of us, but we will play our cards right in the return match. Me as a leader? I don't know, I have my own way of being within the team which is to always try to bring positivity. At the leadership level, I think there is a lot of leadership in this group, so I feel I have more responsibility this year, but I am not scared of it because it is a path to growth that I am following."
