Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich’s 40-year-old goalkeeper, spoke to the media after Wednesday’s victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals (4-3, 6-4 on aggregate). It was also an opportunity to discuss the upcoming semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain (April 28 and May 6).

“Our matches in recent years have always been close, both in the Champions League and in the Club World Cup. These two games will be no different. I’m really looking forward to the match in Paris, and then in Munich with the support of our fans. They were incredible tonight and I hope they’ll do it again against Paris.”

Indeed, the matches between PSG and Bayern have been very tightly contested in recent years. We are once again expecting a two-legged tie of the highest level, with great intensity and plenty of excitement. Everyone is looking forward to it, just like Neuer.
