Claudio Ranieri has addressed Paulo Dybala’s situation at Roma, stressing the need to cut the wage bill, a stance that, according to Glorioso 1904, may please Benfica given their interest.
Dybala is approaching the end of his contract with Roma and his future remains in doubt.
The former coach, now a senior adviser at Roma, said the club must lower salaries to safeguard its survival. He added that, depending on what happens on the pitch, if an understanding is reached that is fine, otherwise they will say goodbye.
Ranieri also set out Roma’s targets, saying the coach is asked to reach the Champions League. He said the aim is for the year to come when they will manage to win the Scudetto.
Dybala has been linked to Benfica since José Mourinho returned as head coach of Benfica. Even so, any move remains only a possibility and would not be straightforward for the club.
