Raphinha pips Mbappe and Yamal to La Liga Player of the Season award | OneFootball

Barcelona winger Raphinha has claimed the La Liga Player of the Season award after a sensational campaign.

The Brazilian international beat Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Ohican Sancet, Isco, Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowskiand Pedri, to the award.

Raphinha bagged 18 goals and nine assists under manager Hansi Flick. He formed a formidable partnership with Lewandowski and Yamal in attack.

Yamal gave Raphinha a run for his money, but he will have to be satisfied with the Under-23 Player of the Season honour.

Yamal created the most big chances in La Liga (28) – a simply unbelievable feat for his age.

His exciting wing play that set him apart from his fellow Under-23 nominees – Alberto Moleiro, Fabio Silva, Pedri, Arda Guler, Bellingham and Diego Lopez.

Real Madrid striker Mbappe arguably deserved the award after a remarkable debut campaign in Spain.

Mbappe outscored every single player in the top five leagues despite struggling to adapt to a new team.

Elsewhere, Flick claimed the Manager of the Season award after a phenomenal start to life in La Liga.
