Bayern Munich came from behind to secure a 5-1 win against RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
Michael Olise produced a phenomenal performance after coming from the bench in the second half, as Bayern maintained an 11-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table.
With that victory, Vincent Kompany’s side have touched 50 points from 18 games, while RB Leipzig dropped to fourth with 32 points, having played a game less.

It was a game of two contrasting halves.
Christian Falk predicted before the game that Bayern would face a different Leipzig side from the one that beat Bayern 6-0 in the first game of the season.
While the result heavily suggests the visiting side’s dominance, in reality, Leipzig were the better team in the first half, created more opportunities, and the scoreline could have been very different had they taken their chances at the right time.
Leipzig made a strong start to the game, with Christoph Baumgartner trying to curl into the far corner inside two minutes, but he went narrowly off target.
Yan Diomande, who has been outstanding on the night, played an intelligent pass to Romulo, but Manuel Neuer made a smart save.
Leipzig created another fantastic opportunity in the sixth minute, when Antonio Nusa missed from close range after a magical dribbling and pass from Diomande.
Luis Diaz fired a bullet effort from distance, but saved by Peter Gulacsi, and soon after, the Colombian couldn’t get to the end of a brilliant pass from Lennart Karl inside the box.
The home side continued to exert pressure and deservedly got the opening goal through Romulo. Nusa picked up David Raum on the overlap, who placed the ball on the path of Romulo, and the striker topoked from close range.
Two minutes later, Leipzig should have added another goal, after Nusa missed a glorious opportunity when he was put through on goal by Nicolas Seiwald, but the winger could not keep his effort on target.
Nusa then picked Baumgartner inside the box with a smart pass, but the midfielder could not make the best use of it.
In the second half, Bayern responded quickly, and that probably set the tone for things to come, which Leipzig probably weren’t prepared to handle.
Bayern shifted their gears, and restored parity through Serge Gnabry after Baumgartner made an error in midfield, allowing Dayot Upamecano to pick the German forward in space. He rushed towards the goal and placed it past Gulacsi to make it 1-1.
By that time, Michael Olise, Leipzig’s nemesis, came on the pitch to replace Karl and helped Bayern reach a new level altogether.
Diaz dribbled past players inside the penalty area to pick Olise, whose cheeky effort was saved by the goalie. The Frenchman then nearly turned into a provider as he played out a brilliant pass to Harry Kane inside the box, but the England striker’s effort was saved by the goalie.
Leipzig stayed positive despite conceding, and Romulo made a cracking effort on goal, but Neuer made a spectacular save to deny him.
That save proved vital as moments later, Bayern took the lead through Harry Kane.
The Bayern striker was barely involved in terms of attacking threat throughout the game. He was mostly seen dropping back, trying to pick out passes from behind. However, when the right opportunity fell to him, he wasted no time in firing home, giving Bayern the lead.
Olise picked him in the box with a fantastic cross, and Kane netted his 21st Bundesliga goal.
Leipzig had another opportunity to come back into the game. This time, Diomande took the ball on his feet and rushed towards the goal and whacked it from close range, but Neuer pulled off a world-class save to deny him.
With the home side looking for an equaliser, and players tiring a bit, Bayern hit them hard with three goals scored inside eight minutes to break their fighting spirit.
Jonathan Tah, who was simply superb on the night, scored with a header from a corner taken by Olise. The Frenchman then picked the ball on the far right after Kane played a long ball to him in acres of space, and played it superbly in the path of Aleksandar Pavlovic, who fired into the open net from two yards out.
Vincent Kompany then introduced Jamal Musiala into the action, with the German star returning after a long spell out on the sidelines. Diaz from the left intended to pick Michael Olise, then took a touch from Musiala on the way, and the Frenchman couldn’t miss the scoring opportunity.
Bayern have now scored 71 goals in the Bundesliga this season, and at the moment, they are looking unstoppable.
