According to Fabrizio Romano, recent speculation linking Ruben Neves with Real Madrid can be firmly toned down.
Romano has confirmed that Real Madrid have not held any negotiations with Al-Hilal regarding the Portuguese midfielder.
In fact, there have been no conversations at all between the two clubs.
Neves’ name has resurfaced in recent weeks largely because of his contract situation. The midfielder’s deal with Al-Hilal is set to expire at the end of the season, naturally placing him on the radar of several European clubs.
When a player of his profile becomes potentially available on a free transfer, speculation is inevitable, and Real Madrid’s name was quickly thrown into the mix.
Fuel was added to the fire by comments from Al Jaber, one of the most respected figures in Arab football.
The former Al-Hilal player openly spoke about Neves’ future, confidently predicting how the situation could unfold.
The situation at Al-Hilal appears increasingly clear. Neves remains an important part of the team’s structure, but his long-term future seems uncertain.

Reports from Saudi sources suggest that the midfielder has no intention of renewing his contract. That decision is said to be firm and well thought out, rather than impulsive.
It is said that Neves wants to return to Europe before turning 30 and compete at the very highest level once again.
Al-Hilal are aware of this stance and accept that keeping him beyond his current contract will be extremely difficult.
This context is what has brought Real Madrid into the conversation. However, Romano’s update is decisive.
Despite the rumours, there has been no contact, no talks and no negotiation between Real Madrid and Al-Hilal over Neves.
At this stage, any link remains speculative rather than concrete.
For Real Madrid, the midfield market is being analysed carefully, but no move has been made for Neves.
Until something changes, the Real Madrid link exists only in rumours, not in reality.
