Real Madrid may have parted ways with one of their academy stars this summer, but the door has not been shut completely.
According to Defensa Central, the club are closely monitoring the progress of Chema Andres, who left for VfB Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga.
The 20-year-old midfielder was sold for €3 million, but Madrid made sure to protect their interests.
They included both a 50% sell-on clause and a buy-back option, although the exact figure of the latter has not been revealed.
Chema’s transition to German football has been nothing short of impressive. In just his first two matches for Stuttgart, he has already contributed directly to two goals – scoring once and assisting another.
This quick impact has caught the attention of many, particularly at Valdebebas, where his former coaches and teammates have been watching his rise with interest.
The inclusion of the buy-back option underlines Madrid’s belief in Chema’s potential.

The midfielder has shown composure, technical ability, and maturity in his early Bundesliga outings, qualities that have made him one of the most promising players to emerge from the Real Madrid academy in recent years.
While the club have no immediate plans to trigger his return, there is a growing sense that if he maintains this level, a comeback to the Santiago Bernabeu could be a real possibility in the near future.
For now, Real Madrid are content to let him develop in Germany, where he is gaining valuable experience and regular playing time.
His performances will be tracked closely, and fans can be sure that Madrid’s scouting department will keep detailed reports on his progress throughout the season.
Chema Andres himself has expressed his affection for Real Madrid, keeping an eye on his former club and its stars from afar.
Therefore, if his rise continues at this pace, a return to the Spanish capital could be more a question of “when” than “if.”
