Real Madrid very happy with key defender’s recovery and form since return | OneFootball

Real Madrid have got off to the perfect start to life under Xabi Alonso with their league campaign getting off to an absolute flyer.

The men in white have excelled across the park, but the most improved department on the field has been the defence by far.

Dean Huijsen, who arrived just in the summer, has already made himself a regular starter under the new manager and has been accompanied by Eder Militao in recent games after the injury to Antonio Rudiger.

The Brazilian, despite coming back from a long-term injury, has been rock solid for Real Madrid and his prominence under Alonso is truly deserved.

As relayed by Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, Real Madrid are very happy with Militao’s recovery and current level and the player’s performances have satisfied the management and administration.

Coming back from back-to-back ACL injuries is easier said than done, especially given that it is the worst injury a footballer can suffer. Yet, Militao has done the impossible and recovered his best version silencing his doubters.

So far this season, the 27-year-old has already made four starts and appearances for Real Madrid and has shown an exceptional level and has even scored one goal for the club.

In addition, he averages over twelve defensive actions per game, 4.5 clearances per 90 minutes and has overseen two clean sheets.

With Real Madrid already looking for a new long-term defender for next summer, the ongoing season is a crucial one for Militao as he must prove his worth and earn a place in Alonso’s hierarchy to stay ahead of the impending new signing.

Given his quality and level, that will not be a difficult task for him if he can stay fit.
