Earlier in the summer, it was reported that Real Madrid have opened the door for the exit of Jeremy de Leon.
The young winger is considered a ‘lucky charm’ for Real Madrid, but the player has yet to make any impact in the first-team and a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, therefore, would do him good.
Malaga, to that end, emerged as one of the potential destinations for de Leon as he looks to take the next step in his career.
However, in a major development, it appears Malaga have pulled the plug in their bid to sign Jeremy de Leon this summer.
According to MARCA, Malaga have hit the pause button on the negotiations due to serious concerns regarding the winger’s medical record.

De Leon has suffered two major shoulder injuries over the past year – both on his left side – requiring surgeries in November and again in April following a relapse.
These repeated issues have raised doubts within Malaga’s sporting department about the feasibility of bringing him in, especially with no guarantees over his long-term fitness.
While some reports had suggested that a three-year deal was already wrapped up, there has been no recent progress in talks.
Malaga had been in touch with both Real Madrid and the player, but were not planning to pay a transfer fee.
With no medical clarity, the club has opted to prioritise other targets for now. The operation could be revisited later in the window, but only if other plans fall through.
This could serve as a big blow for Real Madrid as they would ideally liked to part ways with the young winger this summer.
