Real Madrid’s interest in Premier League pair denied | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid’s links with two big-name Premier League midfielders have this weekend been shut down.

The pair in question? Rodri, and Adam Wharton.

Both Ballon d’Or winner Rodri and Crystal Palace standout Wharton have of course been frequently linked with Real Madrid across the summer to date.

This comes with Los Blancos understood to be on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos at the base of the club’s midfield.

The Premier League pair, both capable of controlling games from deep, have in turn been highlighted as the ideal profiles.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from Spain late this week is anything to go by, then those of a Real Madrid persuasion should not get their hopes up regarding the potential arrival of either any time soon.

As per a report from Marca, as things stand:

‘Neither Rodrigo Hernández nor Crystal Palace player Wharton are in Real Madrid’s plans.’
