On Thursday, Le Parisien revealed that the LFP’s legal committee has ruled that Paris Saint-Germain must pay Kylian Mbappé €55 million in unpaid salaries and bonuses.

This comes after Wednesday’s news that the commission had suggested mediation for both parties to resolve the issue without further legal action. However, Mbappé’s representatives have rejected the LFP’s mediation proposal, according to a statement sent to AFP.

While Mbappé has won this round, AFP reported on Thursday that PSG has chosen not to pay the €55 million in unpaid salary and bonuses. Nonetheless, the Parisians could face dire consequences if they don’t pay their former superstar.

According to L’Équipe, PSG could face a transfer ban if it doesn’t settle its unpaid wages and bonuses. While the LFP can’t force PSG to pay, it can sanction the club, potentially blocking it from signing new players if the issue isn’t resolved.

If the Parisians decide to hold out on not wanting to pay, they would have had to account for any potential consequences of their stance. It will be interesting to see if the Ligue 1 side does face a transfer ban or whether they call this bluff.
