La Gazzetta dello Sport delivered a harsh assessment of the refereeing team led by Davide Massa in its review of Roma 0-1 Inter, describing the match as “full of fouls and not without mistakes.”
According to the paper, referee Davide Massa failed to maintain consistent control in key moments of the game.
The first episode noted came after just two minutes, when Mancini and Calhanoglu clashed.
Gazzetta highlights “a hand to the face from the Roma defender and a foul by the Turk, with Massa ignoring everything.”
A later incident saw Bastoni risk a foul on Celik in the area, judged to be “right on the limit.”

Before halftime, the paper points out two further episodes: a “light blow from Celik on Acerbi” which was not punished, and a “high foot from Koné on Lautaro” near the Inter striker, where Gazzetta felt a foul should have been awarded.
The most serious moment, according to the analysis, came at the start of the second half.
“Ndicka, already booked, commits a foul on Lautaro and should have seen a second yellow.”
Later, the review adds that Celik also escaped a booking in another situation on the wing.
While none of the decisions directly changed the 1–0 result, Gazzetta’s verdict is clear.
Too much tolerance, too many missed fouls, and at least two yellow cards not shown.
