Rémi Himbert ‘to sign’ three-year deal with Lyon

RMC Sport reports that Rémi Himbert, 18, is set to sign his first professional contract with Olympique Lyonnais.

Himbert came off the bench in the Coupe de France in midweek with OL 2-0 down. He supplied an assist then struck a last-gasp equaliser to force penalties, but Lyon were beaten in the shoot-out.

The forward has been the breakout name from Lyon’s academy this season, benefiting from limited depth up front. Even after Endrick arrived on loan from Real Madrid, he remained a viable option for Paulo Fonseca.

The deal is three years with an option for a further season, and an agreement between all parties has been reached.

He turned 18 on 29th February.
