Credit to CF Bayern Insider for highlighting fresh interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in Kim Min-jae following his latest performance for Bayern Munich.
Bayern secured a 3-0 win away at Werder Bremen, their third successive victory in the Bundesliga. Kim started and delivered an assured display that reinforced why Premier League clubs continue to track his situation.

Christian Falk told CFBayern that both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in Kim Min-jae, and they have kept him in their shortlist.
Spurs are expected to review their defensive options ahead of the summer window. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven remain first choice when fit, yet squad depth has been tested. Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin have not fully established themselves, and recruitment decisions may hinge on the identity of the next permanent head coach.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have numbers in central defence but continue to scan the market for upgrades. Missing out on Jeremy Jacquet has sharpened their focus. The club’s approach in recent windows has centred on age profile and resale value, yet experience at elite level also carries weight.
Kim is content in Munich, though he currently sits behind Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah in the pecking order. He has made 10 Bundesliga starts, four substitute appearances and featured six times in the Champions League. Those figures indicate involvement rather than marginalisation.

Against Bremen, the 29 year old registered two interceptions, five clearances, one block and three recoveries. He completed 97 passes with 94 percent accuracy and surrendered possession only six times. Scouts value reliability and control, and this was a performance aligned with both.
Upamecano’s recent contract extension could shape Bayern’s thinking. Should a substantial offer arrive, the club may consider a sale, particularly if internal succession plans are in place. There is no immediate push from the player to leave, but interest from England remains active.
For Chelsea and Spurs, this is one to monitor rather than a negotiation at advanced stage. Circumstances can change quickly in the summer market, and Kim Min-jae’s blend of physical presence and distribution ensures he remains relevant.
For Chelsea supporters, there is logic in pursuing a defender of Kim’s pedigree. Despite strong numbers in the squad, consistency has been an issue. A player accustomed to Champions League intensity could steady moments that have previously unravelled. Some fans may question the age profile compared to other recent recruits, yet many would argue that leadership at the back has been missing.
Spurs supporters are likely to focus on squad depth. Romero and van de Ven form an exciting pairing, but availability has fluctuated. Adding Kim would signal intent to compete across multiple competitions. Concerns may centre on cost and managerial direction. Without clarity on the long term head coach, committing to a high fee carries risk. Even so, many would welcome proven quality over potential alone.
Both sets of supporters would agree on one point. If Bayern open the door, Premier League interest will intensify quickly.
