Chelsea are interested in a move for former Manchester City centre back Aymeric Laporte according to reports in Spain.
The Blues are set for another busy summer and have already signed Liam Delap from Ipswich, with more new faces expected at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea face a critical window and whilst they could add another striker, the club are looking for a centre back and right footed winger.
There’s set to be plenty of movement at centre back with the likes of Renato Veiga, Trevoh Chalobah and Axel Disasi all candidates to be sold.
Chelsea had identified Dean Huijsen as their primary centre back target, but the 20-year-old opted to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Blues have been linked with Marc Guehi and Jarrad Branthwaite, but it appears a former Premier League winner could be on their radar.
El Chiringuito reporter Nico Rodriguez has reported Chelsea are interested in Al Nassr defender Laporte and has provided an update.
He took to X.com and said:
“Chelsea are interested in Laporte! The defender has offers from Manchester United, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and Napoli. As of today, NOTHING from Athletic.”
Laporte left Manchester City for the Saudi Pro League in 2023, but is expected to leave Al Nassr this summer and only has a year remaining on his deal.
The 31-year-old would add much needed leadership and experience to the Chelsea backline, but at this stage it’s hard to imagine the Blues making a move.
The Blues could also do with an alternative to Marc Cucurella with the Spain international currently the only left back in the squad.

Chelsea have identified Jorrel Hato as a target, and the 19-year-old Ajax star is a left back who can also play at centre back if required.
Hato is rumoured to be valued at around €55m, but the Blues might need to move quickly with other clubs such as Liverpool reportedly interested.
