The Blues were quiet in January, but are once expected to be busy this summer with the squad needing reinforcements in key areas.

Chelsea are said to still be in the market for a centre back, whilst they reportedly want to add another midfielder and attacker.

The Blues have struggled defensively this season, and certainly paid the price for not signing a replacement for Levi Colwill.

However, Colwill made his first appearance of the season against Nottingham Forest, and despite the result it was a huge boost for Chelsea.

Chelsea are reportedly set to target players with proven Premier League experience, and have been linked with both Murillo and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Another centre back reportedly of interest is Pavlovic, and Calcio Mercato have reported Chelsea are the club most active in the pursuit of the AC Milan star.

The report adds Milan would want €50m, and are also interested in Benoit Badiashile as a possible replacement.

Pavlovic’s current deal expires in 2028, and the 24-year-old has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, with Milan sat third in Serie A.

Calum McFarlane confirmed Robert Sanchez would also miss the game, whilst it’s unlikely Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho will feature.

That leaves Chelsea with no fit senior wingers and what could be a makeshift lineup for an important visit to Anfield.
