Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has reportedly resumed partial training and could soon make his heavily anticipated return to action.

According to FCInterNews, El Toro is hopeful of making his comeback in the upcoming Serie A clash against Fiorentina at Artemio Franchi.

Lautaro Martinez suffered a calf injury in the first leg of Inter’s Champions League knockout playoff tie against Bodo/Glimt last month.

As a result, he has missed Inter’s last five matches in all competitions, including a dismal 1-0 defeat to AC Milan last weekend.

However, the Argentine striker is working tirelessly to put himself back at Cristian Chivu’s disposal as soon as possible.

Inter Milan Superstar Lautaro Martinez Resumes Partial Training

Despite completing a partial training session at Appiano Gentile, Lautaro will be unavailable for Saturday’s home clash against Atalanta.

In addition to the 28-year-old, Chivu will also be without Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Indeed, the former is still recovering from a knock he suffered during the Milan derby.

As for Lautaro, he could return to action when Inter take on Fiorentina on March 22.

Moreover, it will be their last Serie A outing before the international break.

In the meantime, it’ll be up to Marcus Thuram to make sure Lautaro’s absence doesn’t hinder Inter’s attacking threat against La Dea.
