Vlahovic is preparing for life beyond Juventus, with his contract expiring in July 2026. Talks over an extension in Turin have reportedly collapsed after Juventus asked the Serbian to take a pay cut. As a result, the forward’s representatives are said to be exploring options in England.

Graeme Bailey, Chief Correspondent for TBR Football, revealed: “Once again his people are touching base with potential landing spots Chelsea and Tottenham have been spoken to by intermediaries.” Bailey added that the striker’s next move could hinge on his financial expectations, explaining: “Much will depend on whether he wants a ‘pay day’, he won’t get that in England.”
Vlahovic’s situation in Italy has become increasingly strained. Despite scoring four goals this season under Igor Tudor, he has started only two matches across all competitions. Juventus had previously failed to offload him after a potential transfer to AC Milan collapsed last summer.

Since arriving from Fiorentina in January 2022 for £66.6 million, the Serbian has managed 62 goals in 153 games, an output that leaves the sense of a player who has shown promise but not quite fulfilled his early billing. Bailey’s assessment that “he hasn’t blown anyone away” reflects the general sentiment in Turin.
Despite that, interest in Vlahovic remains high. Barcelona and Bayern Munich are reportedly monitoring his situation closely, while Manchester United and Newcastle United are also understood to be potential suitors. The striker, who turns 25 soon, remains ambitious about proving himself at the highest level.
Bailey concluded: “You get the feeling he has unfinished business at this point of his career.” Vlahovic has scored 134 goals in 310 career appearances, and a move to the Premier League could represent the fresh challenge he needs to reignite his career trajectory.
This report reignites a familiar conversation about Chelsea’s ongoing pursuit of a clinical striker. Since the departures of established finishers in recent years, Stamford Bridge has often lacked a consistent presence in front of goal. Vlahovic, while not flawless, represents a forward with pedigree and untapped potential.
At 25, he fits the profile of a striker who can still evolve, and his physicality, finishing instincts and link play could suit Chelsea’s emerging tactical identity under the current regime. The Blues have invested heavily in youth, but their frontline remains a work in progress. Adding someone of Vlahovic’s profile would balance the project between promise and productivity.
However, fans would rightly express caution. The high wages, coupled with his uneven record in Serie A, raise questions about value and risk. Chelsea’s recruitment strategy has shifted towards financial prudence under PSR constraints, meaning a potential free transfer in 2026 could appeal if his salary demands are reasonable.
For many supporters, this feels like a “wait and see” situation. If Vlahovic maintains form and remains motivated, Chelsea’s hierarchy might view him as the missing piece in a forward line still finding its rhythm. But sentiment alone won’t justify the move. Supporters will expect evidence of a player capable of handling Premier League intensity week after week, not just a name from the continent.
